Line Dancing for Search & Rescue

Thursday, April 2 — The Wobbly Barn
Kickoff

Start your Easter weekend early with a line dance night at the legendary Wobbly Barn. All proceeds support Killington's all-volunteer Search and Rescue team — the folks who pull people out of trouble on the mountain every winter.

  • No experience needed. Seriously.
  • Great way to break in your weekend crew
  • Good cause, good drinks, good time

The Sugarhill Gang + 12/OC

Friday, April 3 — Access Road / Wobbly Barn
Live Music

Yes, that Sugarhill Gang. "Rapper's Delight" live on the Access Road — presented by High Noon. Then head to The Wobbly Barn for 12/OC at 7 PM.

  • Two shows, one night, walkable distance
  • Get dinner between sets at Jax or The Foundry
  • This is the kind of Friday Killington does better than anyone

Children's Easter Egg Hunt

Sunday, April 5 — K-1 Lodge, 8:30 AM
Family

The big one. Kids 12 and under hunt for eggs outside the K-1 Lodge starting at 8:30 AM sharp. Toddler hunt (ages 4 and under) at 9:30 AM at the Roaring Brook Umbrella Bar — much more chill.

  • Get there early. This is popular. 8:15 AM is not too early.
  • One lucky kid wins a youth season pass
  • Free — just show up
  • Pro move: plan first chair right after the hunt. Kids are already up, mountain is empty.

Bear Mountain Mogul Challenge

Monday, April 6 — Bear Mountain
Competition

Amateurs only — which means the wipeouts are spectacular and the energy is off the charts. Even if you're not competing, watching from the base of Bear is one of the best free shows of the spring season.

  • Registration typically opens morning-of
  • Multiple age/skill divisions
  • Spectating is free and wildly entertaining
  • Stick around for the awards and the after-party vibe

The Ideal Easter Weekend

Easter Weekend Dining

Make reservations. Easter weekend fills up.

Liquid Art House
Upscale / Creative
The nicest meal on the Access Road. Farm-to-table, cocktails, moody lighting. This is your Easter dinner spot.
Reserve now. They will book out.
The Foundry
Gastropub
Elevated pub food, great beer list, comfortable vibe. Works for everyone from kids to grandparents.
Sit at the bar if the wait is long.
The Garlic
Italian / Family
Reliable Italian that's been here forever. Big portions, reasonable prices, garlic bread that earns the name.
Early dinner (5 PM) avoids the rush.
Jax Food & Games
Casual / Fun
Pool tables, arcade games, solid food. The kids-are-entertained-while-parents-eat-in-peace option.
Friday night here is a Killington tradition.
Sunup Bakery
Breakfast / Coffee
The breakfast spot. Pastries, egg sandwiches, real coffee. Open early. Fuel up before the egg hunt.
Get there before 8 AM on Sunday.
Pickle Barrel
Apres / Nightlife
The legendary apres spot. Nachos the size of a small table. Where every ski day ends and every night begins.
Saturday afternoon is peak energy.

7 Things Locals Know About Easter Weekend

1
The parking lot fills up. Easter Sunday + spring skiing = everyone in Vermont shows up. Be in the K-1 lot by 8:15 to hunt eggs AND get a decent parking spot.
2
Corn snow has a clock. The best conditions are between 10:30 AM and 1:30 PM when the sun has softened the top layer but hasn't turned it to slush. Go early for groomed, midday for corn.
3
Dress in layers, not a parka. It can be 28 at 8 AM and 50 by noon. Base layer + fleece + light shell. You'll be peeling layers all day.
4
Sunscreen is not optional. April sun at elevation will burn you through your goggles tan line. SPF 50 minimum. Reapply at lunch. You've been warned.
5
Book your Easter dinner now. Liquid Art House and The Garlic will be packed Sunday evening. Call ahead. Walk-ins are a gamble you'll lose.
6
The toddler hunt is better. If your kids are 4 or under, skip the 8:30 frenzy and go to the 9:30 AM hunt at Roaring Brook. Smaller, calmer, same prizes.
7
Monday is the sleeper day. Half the weekend crowd leaves Sunday night. Monday morning you get fresh corduroy, short lift lines, and the Mogul Challenge for entertainment. Stay the extra night.
